Who We Are
Built by practitioners. Not theorists.
Every consultant at TabAgile has run agile transformations from the inside — as engineers, product leaders, and executives. We know what works because we've lived what doesn't.
Our Story
We started TabAgile after a transformation that failed.
In 1997, our founder Timothy (Tim) Burkett was VP of IT consulting at a global services firm. The company hired a top-tier consultancy to lead agile transformation. Eighteen months and several million dollars later, the teams were running standups and retrospectives — but delivery hadn't improved. Leadership was frustrated. Teams were exhausted. The consultants had left.
Tim spent the next year figuring out exactly what went wrong. The answer was consistent: the transformation had been designed for the consultants' convenience, not the organization's reality. Frameworks were applied wholesale. Leadership wasn't aligned. And when the engagement ended, there was no internal capability to sustain the change.
TabAgile was founded in 2000 ,on a single premise: enterprise agile consulting should be built around outcomes, not outputs. Twenty-six years and successful agile clients later, that's still the only thing we measure ourselves against.
Timeline
Twenty-Six years of doing this.
TabAgile founded.
First major enterprise engagement. Completed a 9-month transformation for a federal agency, with early delivery saving significant budgeted dollars.
Expanded to executive coaching practice. Recognized that leadership alignment was the single biggest predictor of transformation success.
Launched remote delivery model. Served global enterprises across multiple countries during a year when in-person consulting was impossible.
Successfully transformed local, state, and federal level organizations.
Launched USA Cyber Security Process Audit offering — a strategic diagnostic product designed to identify and deter corrupt code entry.
How We Work
Four principles we don't compromise on.
Clarity over comfort
We tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. Honest diagnosis is the only path to real improvement.
Results, not rituals
Agile is a means to an end. We measure success by business outcomes — faster delivery, better quality, stronger teams — not by how many ceremonies you run.
Context before prescription
No two enterprises are the same. We spend time understanding your specific constraints before recommending anything.
Transfer, not dependency
Our goal is to make ourselves unnecessary. We build internal capability so your teams can sustain and evolve their practices without us.

The people behind the work.
